Summary:

A leading Sacramento law office of firm with a national reach is searching for a litigation attorney admitted to practice in California who exercises independent judgment and discretion to perform substantive legal functions in client matters.  Offers excellent benefits, a pleasant work environment, and opportunities for advancement.  Hybrid schedule (3 days in, 2 days at home).

Job Description:
  • Direct and support investigation on all assigned cases.
  • Analyze and assess case value to aid in early resolution.
  • Maintain communication with client through the course of the claim.
  • Comply with all litigation and budgeting guidelines.
  • Perform legal research on relevant issues throughout the course of the litigation process.
  • Draft meet and confer letters to opposing counsel regarding discovery issues.
  • Represent the interests of the clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and other proceedings.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and other applicable hearings.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of the clients.

Job Requirements:
  • Experience: 1-5 years relevant litigation experience
  • Licensure & Certification: Possession of a license to practice law in California
  • Excellent writing, communication, analytical and legal research skills
  • Must be outgoing, collegial, and collaborative
  • Ideal candidates must be responsive to clients and partners and accept project responsibility
  • Qualifications include distinguished academics, strong writing skills, keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must
