Job Description:

The Staff Accountant provides oversight and direction regarding the basic accounting processes, revenue collection processes, bill payment and processing, financial reporting, and, as needed, administrative support for multiple stakeholders.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how the day-to-day accounting transactions impact the organization’s financial outcomes. We are searching for candidates who have experience with the full accounting cycle and understand how to track and analyze transactions flowing through multiple locations or entities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and prepare consolidated financial statements including but not limited to: balance sheets, income statements, and statement of changes in cash.
  • Review and process business leases to ensure the accuracy of tenant ledgers and data in the MRI accounting system.
  • Prepare monthly work papers supporting the financial statements, researches and resolves outstanding general ledger items, and assists external vendors with annual audits.
  • Develop and maintain the financial transaction records for assigned properties or development projects.
  • Use MRI accounting system, databases, and spreadsheets to track expenditures, collect revenue, and post the cash receipts.
  • Analyze financial information and compiles reports including but not limited to cash flow statements, budgets, income statements, or balance sheets for management review.
  • Enter, maintain, and review tenant transaction such as invoicing, cash receipts, budgets, fixed asset accounts, and expenses.

Job Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of in-house full cycle accounting experience with progressive increases in levels of responsibility, scope, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Experience analyzing and compiling financial information across multiple entities or profit centers.
  • Experience working with MRI accounting software preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis and accounting principles.
