Job Description:

Responsible for scheduling all test and procedures as directed by the physician and nurse. The scheduler serves as a liaison between patient and facility where tests or procedure are scheduled. Rooms patients and provides back up support for physicians or nurses during clinic. Responsible for facilitating patient flow. Provides necessary assistance to the physician and nurse to aid in optimal patient care. Scheduling patients for surgery, outpatient procedures and follow up appointments as requested by the physician or nurse. Primarily schedules breast procedures, including imaging. Schedules open access procedure requests. Prepare and provide surgical instructions to patients. Verify insurance and demographic information for accuracy. Update information as necessary. Sends referring doctor letters communicating patient’s surgical status. Provide required documentation to insurance company for pre-determination. Obtain insurance authorization or precertification for scheduled procedure. Maintains recall/data file.

Job Requirements:

Registered Medical Assistant (preferred).Must have High Risk Surgical scheduling experience and at least 1 year with customer service background.Proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
