Duties

  • Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates for commercial concrete projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing data and technical information.
  • Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to develop precise bid packages and proposals.
  • Support the review of contract documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope of work and potential risks.
  • Contribute to cost control efforts by analyzing project budgets and tracking estimate accuracy throughout project lifecycle.
  • Participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
  • Help compile bid summaries, risk assessments, and value engineering suggestions to optimize project profitability.

Job Requirements:
  • Prior experience or internship in construction estimating or project management within commercial concrete or heavy civil construction projects.
  • Familiarity with HeavyBid or similar estimating software tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating principles, cost control, and pricing strategies.
  • Knowledge of construction site operations, safety standards, and project workflows.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and contractual terms.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, contracts, and technical specifications with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and stakeholders.
