Summary:
The Electrical Controls Designer must be a creative, self-starter who can work unsupervised towards broadly defined goals. Will act as a technical resource and backup to the electrical engineering manager. Will be responsible for electrical and controls designs.
Job Description:
- Good understanding of the electrical design, electrical wiring and functional use of major industry burner and boiler controllers.
- A strong knowledge of burner control theory as laid out in industry standards such as ASME, UL, and NFPA
- The ability to troubleshoot, debug and otherwise solve technical issues relating to controller wiring and controller function.
- Excellent understanding of electrical circuit design and electrical circuit component selection
- Knowledge of wiring diagram standards and experience in electrical CAD
- Knowledge of electrical design standards such as the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), enclosure rating systems such as NEMA and IP
- Occasional travel when required to discuss project requirements with customers, troubleshoot technical issues at project sites.

- Associate’s degree
- Minimum 3 years of product design/CAD experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Great problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
