Summary:

The Electrical Controls Designer must be a creative, self-starter who can work unsupervised towards broadly defined goals. Will act as a technical resource and backup to the electrical engineering manager. Will be responsible for electrical and controls designs.

Job Description:
  • Good understanding of the electrical design, electrical wiring and functional use of major industry burner and boiler controllers.
  • A strong knowledge of burner control theory as laid out in industry standards such as ASME, UL, and NFPA
  • The ability to troubleshoot, debug and otherwise solve technical issues relating to controller wiring and controller function.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical circuit design and electrical circuit component selection
  • Knowledge of wiring diagram standards and experience in electrical CAD
  • Knowledge of electrical design standards such as the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), enclosure rating systems such as NEMA and IP
  • Occasional travel when required to discuss project requirements with customers, troubleshoot technical issues at project sites.

Job Requirements:
  • Associate’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years of product design/CAD experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Great problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Good ability to communicate technical details to customers and peers.
