Job Description:

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of this organization. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing a wide range of financial, legal, and administrative functions to ensure the financial well-being and compliance for our clients company. Your expertise will be essential in driving financial strategy and decision-making. Somebody with strong leadership skills is ideal for this position as the CFO oversees the work of the controller and the accounting team including Human Resources positions.

Responsibilities:

401(k) Plan:

  • Manage plan amendments, service agreements, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Oversee the performance and expenses of funds within the 401(k) plan.
  • Facilitate participant rollovers into the plan and ensure compliance with nondiscrimination limits for highly compensated employees.

Audit:

  • Lead adoption and disclosures of newly effective accounting standards.
  • Manage litigation and impairment analysis processes.

Banking:

  • Oversee banking operations and financial relationships with banking institutions.

Computers & IT:

  • Oversee financial aspects of the company’s computer and IT systems.

Contracts:

  • Review bid documents, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders for awarded contracts.
  • Assist Project Managers with the resolution of sub/supplier contract edits and disputes.

Corporate Secretary:

  • Maintain board meeting minutes and oversee stock offerings and redemptions.

HR (Human Resources):

  • Ensure regulatory compliance in HR matters.
  • Manage employee policies and procedures, including FMLA eligibility and required notices.
  • Administer health insurance, including Medicare Part D creditable coverage (CMS filing & disclosure to employees), annual open enrollment, stop-loss renewal, and financial reporting-related expenses.
  • Manage life, LTD (Long-Term Disability), and vision insurance programs.
  • Ensure EEO/AAP compliance, especially upon the award of federal or federally assisted contracts.

Insurance:   Oversee insurance renewals and monitor claims.

Investments:

  • Make informed decisions regarding the investment of working capital.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and manage investments in other entities.

Legal:

  • Manage litigation matters.
  • Oversee claim preparation and discovery processes.

Subsidiary:

  • Review financial reporting.
  • Provide general compliance assistance.

Taxes:

  • Manage quarterly tax estimates and the preparation of federal and state income / composite tax returns.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting, and auditing principles.
  • Excellent understanding of financial and business regulations and compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver.
