Job Description:

Summary:  Seeking an experienced, organized accountant to handle all aspects of accounting for our growing manufacturing company.  Reporting to the President, the candidate will need to be able work with our customers, vendors and internal departments. Growth opportunity:  Assuming personal and company growth, we will need to add Controller title to this position at some point in the future. This entails managing cash reserve flows between our brokerage account and operating accounts and potential bank loans and those relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statements: Prepare Income Statement and Balance Sheet on a monthly basis with accuracy. Maintain Cash Flow Statement weekly with accuracy. Bank reconciliation.
  • Maintain bank relationship.
  • Miscellaneous financial analysis.
  • Payroll: Do payroll direct deposits and paper checks every two weeks including all withdrawals and garnishments. This may also be delegated to the HR person who is doing it now.
  • Tax Payments: Make all property and quarterly income tax payments. Abide by all tax regulations. File annual reports for companies. (QuickBooks does payroll taxes). Work with our CPA on annual tax returns.
  • Invoicing: Oversee or do daily invoicing and receivables collection. Currently delegated to a capable clerk.
  • Payables: Payables weekly.
  • Do credit applications.
  • Manage and administer company insurance with President and the broker.
  • Oversee Human Resources.
  • New Hire Orientation – tax forms, I9, benefit options.
  • Completing employer section of I9 & tax forms.
  • Entering new hire in QuickBooks & Excel spreadsheets.
  • Updating expired I9s.
  • Auditing health insurance bills.
  • Administration of health insurance and relationship with provider.
  • Reviewing 401K report weekly & updating changes.
  • Manage relationship with 401k provider.
  • Responsible for maintaining job postings.
  • Managing relationships with search firms.
  • Screening inbound applications and resumes.
  • Managing new hire drug tests, physicals, & background checks.
  • Ensure that employee’s vacation rolls over on their anniversary date.
  • Scheduling and coordinating career fairs.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience including QuickBooks, payroll and payables.
  • 1+ years of HR experience.
  • Adherence to our core principles, values and company culture.
