Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations in a busy clinic environment, ensuring smooth patient flow, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires proficiency in various medical software systems and an understanding of medical records management.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process
- Schedule appointments, check in patients, collecting co-pays and obtaining insurance information and documents. .
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Process patient information using electronic health record systems such as Allscriipts and Medfusion software.
- Verifies that demographic and insurance information has been entered correctly ensuring all documentation is correct and up to date.
- Handle incoming calls, answer inquiries, and direct patients to appropriate departments.
- Collect co pays, reschedule fees, FMLA charges and balances from patients. Posts FMLA and copayments to patient account. Makes appropriate patient notes with respect to FMLA and reschedule payments.
- Prepares patients’ charts and gathers relevant films, test results, or medical records prior to patients’ appointments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
