Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of technical accounting principles and practices, as well as experience in financial reporting and analysis. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with GAAP standards while supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This is a temporary position with opportunity for permanent hire.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for directing the full-time and part-time finance department employees and overseeing the daily financial operation as described below.
- Daily activities for the accounting function.
- Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law.
- Supervises Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and other accounting functions and personnel.
- Prepares statements and reports of forecasted future revenues and costs.
- Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
- Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
- Reviews financial statements with management personnel.

- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level or as department head.
- Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
- Experience with budgeting processes and financial forecasting.
- Proficient in financial software.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
