Job Description:

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant for a medical entity. Will be responsible for the timely monthly close process for multiple entities including the preparation of monthly financial statements. The Staff Accountant, as part of the finance team, will support external audits and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely month close process for multiple entities, including bank reconciliations, preparation of adjusting entries, reconciliations, and initial review of financials to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and industry processes.
  • Responsible for reconciling balance sheet and selected income and expense accounts monthly to ensure accounts are properly stated with timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Properly record capital purchases and disposals in conformance with GAAP and the capitalization policy of the organizations, including managing the depreciation schedules.
  • Prepares supporting documentation and schedules for the annual external audits or reviews annual Medicaid and Medicare cost reports.
  • Ensures audits and reviews are completed timely and accurately in conformance with GAAP.
  • Maintains confidentiality and data security standards for all accounting-related information.
  • Prepares and uploads bi-weekly, monthly, and annual payroll journal entries and reconciles the related general ledger account balances including researching and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Respond to inquiries timely; checks accounting transactions to locate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Serves as backup for the Staff Accountant on daily processing of Accounts Payable and daily cash transactions.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in accounting or business administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ related experience in accounting is required.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
  • Experience with accounting of multiple entities or clients on a regular basis preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software and systems, and Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Excel.
  • Point Click Care and Bill.com experience a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to changes, and meet strict deadlines.
