Job Description:

The Director of Operations Commercial Construction is the overall team leader overseeing estimating, project management and safety.

Duties:

  • Manage, lead and hold accountable all managers and personnel to a level of results ownership.
  • Decide what jobs to bid then direct and manage a team that keeps track of bid date, bids the project, locates subcontractors for each facet of the project being bid; records and manages bids from subcontractors coming in on projects that we are bidding.
  • Verifies scope, calculates, and assembles the final bid on projects; follows up after the bid to see if we won the bid.
  • Assigns a Project Manager, monitors the Project Managers and status of all the Company’s Projects guaranteeing timely project execution and positive customer relations.
  • Lead the company in a strategy for success.
  • Coach mentor and assist all managers with their assignments refining operational processes to ensure consistent adherence.
  • Perform contract review to ensure managers are aware of relevant contract provisions.
  • Make high level decisions protecting the company from unnecessary risk and loss. Perform whatever duties as required to support the company’s success.
  • Work with the accounting team to get billing on projects out in a timely manner as well as making sure all subcontractors are following procedures for billing on projects.

Job Requirements:
  • 3+ year of commercial construction project management.
  • 3+ years of commercial construction project bids.
  • 3 Plus years of Commercial Contract reviews.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including planning, execution, and monitoring of construction activities.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills to align construction initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Experience in senior leadership roles within the construction industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in operations management with a focus on optimizing processes for better performance.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively manage contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability in business development to identify growth opportunities within the market.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement practices that enhance operational efficiency.
