Job Description:

SUMMARY: Under general supervision from the Senior Director of Development, manages multiple annual development campaigns at one time including fundraising events. Supports the senior development team with donor lead follow-up and provide donor-centric appreciation. She/he will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with donors.  The position will interface with the development team to capture and report on donor communications and coordinates strategically and tactically with other functions and departments.  Supports the senior development/marketing team with new and existing donors in the comprehensive fund development plan and donors’ moves management.
• Responsible for managing and soliciting a portfolio of annual donors.
• Responsible for executing all fundraising events.
• Manages guest registrations, rsvp’s, staff attendance and capturing data in Raiser’s Edge and event management software.
• Manages planning of standard fundraising events working with staff and volunteers as a clearinghouse to assure details are accomplished as assigned.
• Identifies and solicits annual event sponsorships.
• Establish and manage a donor cultivation cycle and gift stewardship program to ensure that new donors are developed, have opportunities to increase their level of support, and enjoy a close relationship with organization.
• Create stewardship strategies to retain new and lapsed donors to achieve financial and stewardship goals. Manages ongoing donor research and wealth analytics.
• Responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the advisory council volunteers and staff for annual fundraising events.
• Develop processes to enhance the department’s overall efficiency and effectiveness for maintaining engagement with new and existing donors.
• Manage and distribute all direct mail solicitation activities, phone calls and delivering materials
• Recruit, expand and manage third-party external events by implementing standard operating procedures adhering to agency mission and brand standards.
• Designs and prepares comparative analysis of all events. Develops and plans future activities based on the analysis.
• Assists the Development Team in creating new annual fundraising events and strategies to meet the funding needs of the agency.
• Collaborate with staff, volunteers and donors to develop and maintain a strategic perspective — based on marketplace and constituent needs
• Implement policies to ensure the integrity of organizations development department’s work and insure donor trust.
• Writes acknowledgments, correspondence, reports, and other communications.
• Recruit, train, and support qualified volunteers and interns.
• Equip and enable volunteers and staff so they can act on behalf of organization by:
Transmitting organizations values, vision and direction.
• Modeling behavior and coaching volunteers in fundraising activities.
• In collaboration with Communications and Marketing, assists with social media channels geo-targeted campaigning for donor cultivation. Prepares Net Communities segmented, template electronic communications and solicitations utilizing agency branded graphics and messaging.
• Oversees the processing of mail, batching contributions in Raiser’s Edge and donation reconciliation with Accounting.
Provides back-up data-entry for Raiser’s Edge by entering donor information in Raiser’s Edge.
• Manages the process to receive, track, process, distribute and acknowledge in-kind donations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION:  Undergraduate college degree.
EXPERIENCE:  Previous experience in sales, development, event planning and the use of fundraising software.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Excellent Word Processing, spreadsheet database skills including ability to create, build and generate reports. Strong organizational, writing and speaking skills to work with staff, volunteers and public. Manages daily work activities including time, materials and expenses to best optimize the resources available. Performs a variety of clerical duties, which may include typing documents, entering data for record keeping, and/or operating copier, facsimile machine, or postage machine.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to apply logic and discretion while handling multiple priorities.
May make some alterations when following established procedures.
Proficiency progress for this position is six months.
COMMUNICATION:  Continual communication with staff and external contacts to provide, obtain, or discover information, and advises or persuade.
