Job Description:

Our client, a global law firm, currently has an excellent full-time career opportunity for a Conflicts Analyst in their San Francisco office. The Analyst is responsible for working closely with firm attorneys and the Conflicts Manager in connection with the review of new business to identify and facilitate the resolution of potential conflicts, business, and General Counsel policy issues.
Successful candidates will understand legal conflicts, related ethical rules, and current developments; review conflict requests and obtain clarity on parties and positions; perform data analysis and identify possible issues or stop issues and notify the requesting attorney; evaluate conflict reports and clear potential conflicts according to firm policies; communicate directly with attorneys to determine legal conflicts or completed matters; document process and keep records of conversation with attorneys; track waivers, engagement letters, acknowledgement to close matters; capture institutional knowledge discovered during conflict resolution; elevate issues to submitting attorney; and identify and escalate ethical conflicts and unresolved issues to requesting attorney.

Job Requirements:

Three or more years experience as a Litigation Paralegal, Library Researcher or other comparable position consisting of researching in a legal environment preferred but not required, or business experience in an analytical role. Bachelor's degree or better. Critical thinking and analytical skills; high level of discretion in handling confidential information; excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to accept direction and constructive feedback; ability to take ownership and resolve problems. Willingness to work overtime.
