Job Description:

We are searching for an outside sales professional with demonstrated success selling in the fluid handling/process industries to join our team in the role of Business Development Manager within the sales territory consists of the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, and the upper peninsula of Michigan. To achieve success in this role, candidates need excellent time management and organizational skills along with a competitive and entrepreneurial mindset. The main responsibility of this position is to interface with prospective customers in order assess technical requirements, decision makers, decision influencers and decision methodology. Other tasks include:
Visit existing and prospective customer manufacturing locations as needed to provide technical support, problem solve, identify opportunities for business expansion and maintain relationships with key personnel at multiple levels in management, production, quality control, sourcing, engineering, etc.
Managing and interpreting customer requirements, calculating client quotations, negotiating contract terms, resolving customer problems, offering after-sales support services, and working closely with internal departments, suppliers, and other external technical experts.
Manage and achieve financial objectives by staying within assigned budget.
Attend trade shows and sales trainings.

Job Requirements:

A four-year degree in the field of engineering or business is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success selling in the fluid handling/process industries using consultative sales methods. Candidates must possess a minimum of two years successful sales background, strong mechanical and technical skills, demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills, as well as a good understanding of the application and markets for the process industries. Previous experience selling industrial pumps and repair services is beneficial. Familiarity with the territory’s geographic sales area and the customers within that area is preferred. Skills in time management, scheduling, customer reporting, and the ability to establish and build business relationships are critical to success.
